Reminder - Afterschool is on City Council agenda *tonight* at 5:30pm

Keep sending emails until 6:30pm + sign up (and psych yourself up) for public comment | Petition submitted

Dear families,

Thank you for the 🙌 outpouring 🙌 of emails that has continued in support of Policy Order #59 (summary) on expanding afterschool tonight (M, 3/4, 5:30pm, see agenda).

• 💌 Send your email! You can send until City Council discusses the item, so probably at least 6:30pm. Recycling an old email is fine. Or use this template.

• 🗯️ Public comment: You can do this! Sign up here. (Enter PO #59.) Text me at 617.270.6549 if anything goes wrong or you need moral support (normal!). You’ll have 2 or 3 minutes to talk. Reading your email is a good way to do this. 30 people have signed up so far, so if you sign up now you’ll likely talk at ~6:30pm?? (You can text me tonight for revised estimates.)

Thank you all again!! This level of support makes a real difference as city leaders decide where to put their energy going forward.

• Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui is co-sponsoring the order (she didn’t send an email this week, though). Co-sponsor Councilor (and former mayor) Marc McGovern mentioned it (but there’s no link available).
